Recipe ingredients
- 1 kg, 32oz, green Mallow leaves, finely chopped
- 3 medium onions, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh coriander
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed with a dash of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- A dash of black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
Recipe method
- Wash mallow leaves several times in a bowl, under running water.
- Drain, then squeeze with your hands excess water.
- Fry onions until golden in hot oil.
- Save some onions for garnishing, add mallow leaves to onion pan.
- Stir over medium heat.
- Add garlic, coriander, salt and pepper.
- Mix mixture well. Add water.
- Cover and leave on low heat for 20 minutes or until cooked.
- Serve cold, garnished with fried onions.
- Sprinkle over some lemon juice.
