Recipe ingredients
- 1/2 kg, 16 oz, minced meat
- 1/2 kg, 16 oz, green broad beans, trimmed
- 2 cups long grain rice
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 3 medium onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter or shortening
- 1/2 cup fried pine nuts
Recipe method
- Fry onion with butter until soft.
- Add meat, salt and cinnamon.
- Cook until meat is brown and tender.
- Add beans to meat mixture and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add water and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Add rice to pot and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
- Cover pot, lower heat and continue cooking for another 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
- You can use brown rice in this recipe.
